Massage

YOUnique Health and Wellbeing has a massage therapist (MT) and a remedial massage therapist (RMT). We accommodate your needs by having both a male and a female therapist available. Our RMT has completed a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy that allows patients to claim a portion of their treatment using their private health funds.* From sports injury to relaxation, our therapists will provide a solution for you. They provide sports, relaxation, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, Indian head massage, and dry needling techniques.

Who can benefit?

Whether it is to reduce stress and anxiety, to sporting injuries, long term chronic pain or relaxation, there is a treatment that will suit you. If you answer yes to any of the following, a massage is for you:

  • Restricted movement
  • Neck pain
  • Lower back pain

  • Tired
  • Poor posture

What to expect in your first and subsequent sessions

Here at YOUnique, we are all about you. We work closely with you to produce a manageable wellness plan that you agree with. In our initial consult, we will go through current causes, history, posture, muscle testing, bending/twisting, lifestyle and more. For a relaxation massage, you will be introduced to a relaxing room with ambient light and soft music to slip away into a relaxed state. You will be given a wellness plan to make sure you are kept in the loop when it comes to your treatment.

In subsequent visits, we will monitor, tweak, update and improve that plan. As you change and progress, so will we. We will re-evaluate achievable goals and make sure we are on track in hitting important milestones. Once there, it is all about not going back.

*Some private health funds may not cover remedial massage. Check with your health fund before claiming.
