I never thought I would say this, but Yoga has helped change my life.
If you would have asked me this 5 years ago, I would have said you are kidding. My first experience with Yoga was at my gym, where I got so bored and frustrated that I walked out halfway through the class, much at the dismay of the on-looks of the whole room.
My life was hectic and I lacked inner peace. I started my spiritual journey to find what I was lacking, which led me to Mindfulness, Meditation, and eventually, right back to Yoga.
I started Yoga again after having made some big changes in my life. But this time it was different.
From the minute I walked into that room, I knew it was where I was meant to be. The whole experience made me feel calm, at peace, and I was able to be fully connected to my whole body and my breath. My mind slowed down, I was observing my thoughts. I was observing my breath. One breath after the other.
Each movement felt relieving, releasing tension and strengthening my body where I needed it the most. The class finished with a relaxation practice which deepened my sense of inner peace and calm.
I walked out feeling on cloud nine, on top of the world and floating. These feelings lasted for the rest of the day.
That was about 12 months ago. I now practice Yoga regularly, in a class setting or at home in my back yard. It helps me balance my busy lifestyle with the depth I need to stay grounded.
My own practice has led me to want to share this wonderful experience with others. If you are someone who has a regular practice, or perhaps haven't tried it before, no matter your skill level, I'd like to share this class with you.
